This film traces the history of the Satpura voluntary relocation model, one of the most successful instances of forest-village relocation in India. Through slow, thoughtful conversations with the erstwhile forest-folk as well as the officials who oversaw the relocation project itself, the film examines the pros and cons, highlights and risks of such large projects – and how they affect the landscape, its wildlife and its human custodians.
