Event Description: Turtle Walker, Documentary Film
A critically acclaimed documentary that illuminates the extraordinary life of Satish Bhaskar, famously known as India’s “Sea Turtle Man”. During the late 1970s, Bhaskar set out to walk the entire coast of the country, marooning himself on islands, covering 4000+ kilometres on foot. His meticulous discovery and documentation of sea turtle nesting sites laid the foundation for their protection across India. After a devastating tsunami struck in 2004, Bhaskar grappled with a pressing question: What happens to sea turtles when their nesting beaches disappear?
