Synopsis
Set against the unsettling backdrop of pandemic-stricken 2020, Lost World 2020 unfolds in a crumbling landscape where climate crisis, human trafficking, child abduction, and the relentless greed of urbanisation collide.
At the heart of this haunting narrative stands a forgotten elderly soul — abandoned amid the neon glow of urban prosperity. Their quiet isolation becomes a powerful mirror to humanity’s moral and ecological decline. As the city thrives on artificial connections and material ambition, something far more essential fades away.
Through surreal, dystopian, yet deeply poetic imagery, the film reflects on displacement, ecological destruction, and the profound loneliness of a society severed from its roots. Rivers dry up. Forests disappear. Livelihoods vanish. Families fragment. Identities dissolve. Dignity erodes.
Blending poetic realism with sharp social commentary and dystopian allegory, Lost World 2020 is not merely a cautionary tale — it is an elegy for what we are losing in the name of progress.
This cinematic journey invites viewers to pause, reflect, and confront a pressing question: In our race toward development, what remains of our humanity?
