Artist's Comment: "The subject of my work is nature and women and the interdependence on the two givers of life. The medium of my work is oil and acrylic on canvas using a palette knife, watercolour and charcoal on paper. All the varied mediums truly add colour and dimension to my paintings.
The theme of this exhibition is rural India - fields and trees and rivers in all their natural glory. Village folk going about their day. We live in a country with abundant agricultural significance, rolling fields, and endless trees on the horizon. The water bodies assume immense significance too. As I pass through the countryside it beckons me to share my perspective with the world through my art works. We pass by not necessarily seeing consciously our surroundings- so caught up are we in our worldly life.
It has been my endeavour to hold solo exhibitions on my own and share this that I see. As an Indian artist, I like to depict simple village life and the simplicity of village folks -basically rural India in all its pristine beauty.
Yet other painting have flowers- the divine footprints. In my figurative work, I portray rural Indian women in complete harmony with nature and their surroundings. All my work has elements of the earthy and real and beauty intertwined and the colour and medium I use goes to add another dimension to the paintings. I share a little of my inner soul with each work of art
