Event Description: MUSIC: Open Land Quartet

The Open Land Quartet- is a chamber jazz quartet, from France.

The group is led by Mr. Bruno Angelini. He is one of the most accomplished pianists in France today. He travels widely with his quartet, who are all very senior and distinguished musicians. The ensemble comprises Bruno Angelini on the Piano, Régis Huby on the Violins, Claude Tchamitchian on the Double Bass and Edward Perraud on the Drums. 

Open Land, is at the core of a French and European expression of Jazz that is called ‘chamber jazz’. Influenced by the neoclassical and contemporary music of the 20th century, as well as by the Afro-American source of Jazz.

The album is poetic, dreamlike, engaging, intense, and group interplay forms the heart of their music.


The album won the acclaimed Charles Cros “coup de cœur” award last year in France for this album. It was also on the shortlist amongst 9 group albums for the prestigious 'Victoire de la Musique' French music awards last year. (French equivalent of the Grammy awards and the Brit music awards)
