Event Description: MUSIC: BLU

BLU is a blues band based out of New Delhi. The band was formed in 2015 by Pranai Gurung and Kapil Chetri. They primarily play Electric Blues & Country Blues and reworked Standard Blues. Guitarist Kapil Chetri is credited to be one of the first sounds in India who deals primarily with Delta Blues and other finger style-plucking, acoustic blues styles. Kapil brings in the raw Mississippi sound to the group. Pranai has been writing and collaborating with various musicians for over 15 years – Drift the trio, Silk Route, Bipul Chettri, BollyJazz, Crossover Jazz collective. The band writes and performs their own music. The band has been regularly featured at Piano Man Jazz Club, Depot 48, Bflat Bar, Bonobo, The Stables (Mumbai), Shisha cafe (Pune) Big tap (Goa). The band won the coveted Mahindra Blues Band hunt 2017 and were featured at the prestigious Mahindra Blues Festival 2017 in Mumbai.
