IRCEN (India International Rural Cultural Centre) Presents Adivasi Ki Shaan

Tribal (Kandha Dance) 
Dhap & Rasarkeli of Odisha 

Dhap dance is the traditional folk dance of western Odisha. Generally, this dance is performed by the Tribe named as Kanda. The main festival of western Odisha is the Nuakhai or Nabarna. Dhap is specially danced on the occasion of Nuakhai. Then after they greet their parents and elders by touching their feet to say “NuakhaiJuhar”. This term of greeting is Nuakhai Vet-ghat. After that, all villagers have fun by beating dhap andramkathi and dance together. Head of the village also dances with the rhythm taking lead. Rasarkeli is the traditional folk-dance of western Odisha. All the sisters wish the longevity of their brother having prayed The Goddess Durga. During Dussehra all the brothers and sisters perform a dance together by wearing a different type of colourful traditional dresses by singing a traditional song. Dulduli is a Traditional folk-Music of western Orissa. Different type of traditional musical Instruments used Like DHOL, NISN, TASA, JHANJ and MUHURI. Dulduli music is performed especially in Devi puja, Marriage ceremony and other traditional festivals. This Music is a part of the human life of western Odisha's People.
