- The children shall be attending the opening on the 20th of December at 5.30 pm and will also be at the gallery on 21st and 22nd of December between 3 - 7 pm.
- Amar, the stand-up comedian is doing a special humourous storytelling session for the children on Saturday 22nd December at 4 pm.

Event Description: My dreams, My world, Group Show by Specially-abled Children of Deepashram (home for boys)
Deepashram (home for boys) was inaugurated by Mother Teresa in 1994 and registered under the Juvenile Justice Act 2015. Children Welfare Committee (CWC) has been bringing in children, who are admitted to and taken care of by Deepashram. These are children, who go missing, are orphans or have been abandoned by their family, mostly because they could not cope (financially or psychologically) with the challenges that these children faced (physically or intellectually). Deepashram currently houses 53 children (21 below 18 years and 32 above).
12 of these special children are gifted artistically and artist Shikha Agarwal has been facilitating art workshops for them. 'My dreams, my world' is an art exhibition of works by these specially-abled children. The children have been using mediums like Pastels, crayons, sketch pens, pencils, watercolours and even been doing collages. Ajay, Ashok, Govind, Gulam, Javed, Johny, Kapil, Pradeep, Roshan, Shibu, Suresh, and Vicky will be exhibiting their artworks and also releasing a book that captures some of their story and art on 20th of December 2019.
Late Shri Umesh Varma Ji was an eminent artist who was very close to children and their art. This show, inspired by his values and love for children and art is organised by his son Namit Varma, and curated by Aakshat Sinha (Delhi based Artist and Curator). The show will be on display at the Arpana Fine Arts Gallery, Siri Fort Institutional Area, New Delhi till the 22nd of December 2019 with the support of the gallery. The senior artist Arpana Caur ji has always been extremely supportive to children and artists with special abilities to provide the gallery on free basis.
The funds raised through sales of the Artworks, Books and Art calendars (that are yet to be printed with their art), and through donations would be used by Deepashram for the children.
In all of this, the most important effort is to put a smile on the children's faces and to help them believe that they are the heroes of their lives. For this financial support is needed but more importantly what is needed is to come and share this moment of pride and joy for them, with them. Funds are also being raised to get the show ready, with the artworks mounted on the walls, the books and the art calendars printed.
We are also hopeful of getting a choir performance for the children and all who attend to bring in the Christmas cheer.
Wish that we can all be the Santa Claus in their lives and make it meaningful and empower them with self-confidence.
