Event Description: MUSIC: Raffaele Matta Trio

This is a very special project for Raffaele Matta. A lot of his recent work has been focused on Indian music, especially the rhythm side. They don’t play any Indian classical composition; their intention is to take the essence of that rhythmic approach and those melodic trajectories and develop their vision of music. At the same time, they are improvisers, and everything they play is always approached with that point of view. Stylistically the trio traverses different directions, you’ll hear elements of drum & bass, electronic, Latin grooves, jazz, and some noise and discord that they use to create rhythm and tension or to change the direction of their music.
