A vibrant cultural evening infused by scintillating performances by virtuoso artists in the memory and 6th death anniversary of internationally renowned flutist Late Pt. Niranjan Prasad.

About the Artists: 

Padma Shri Guru Geeta Chandran A celebrated artist and a star-performer, Geeta Chandran began learning Bharatanatyam from the tender age of 5 years under the tutelage of Smt. Swarna Saraswathy, who hailed from the traditional Thanjavoor daasi parampara. An A-Top graded dancer at Doordarshan and at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Geeta is recipient of several prestigious awards, among them: the Lady Shri Ram College Illustrious Alumna Award, the Dandayudhapani Pillai Award, the Guru Deba Prasad Das Award, the Bharat Nirman Award, the Natya Ilavarasi, the Indira Priyadarshini Award, the Media India Award, the National Critics Award, the Sringar Mani and the Natya Ratna.

Saurabh Banaudha is a strongly emerging flutist of India and belonging to the eminent Varanasi Gharana, his fine and melodious rendering of ragas mesmerize the audience with the magic of the flute. The national level flute champion is also an Empaneled Artist of the Ministry of Culture. He has been awarded Kala Ratna Samman, Venu Ratna Samman and Yuva Alankar.

SNA Awardee Ustad Yugantar Sindoor represents Rampur-SehaswanGharana as he had learnt music from Padmabhushan Late Ustad Nisaar Hussain Khan Saheb under traditional way of Guru-Shishya Parampara in Badaun (U.P.). He has emanated the traditional ghazal gayaki in a current mode and a palpable style with the blend of Khyals &Thumris. Since last 40 years, he has been endeavouring to put on extra mile in the field of music and has been honoured the illustrous Begum Akhtar Award – 2018-19 by Govt of UP recently.
