Event Description : MUSIC : Pt. Vishnu Digambar Jayanti Sangeet Samaroh 2019
One of the oldest and most eagerly awaited music festivals of Delhi,
the Vishnu Digambar Jayanti is celebrated in memory of Late Pt. Vishnu Digambar
Paluskar, a legendary figure who initiated the renaissance of Indian Classical Music
almost a century ago. It is perhaps entirely due to his efforts that classical music
became popular amongst the general public.
Since its inception more than seven decades ago, the festival has seen the top
musicians across the country perform as homage to Panditji. Many established senior
artistes have had their maiden performances in Delhi on this platform. Young and
upcoming artistes are also featured regularly at the festival.
This event is organised by Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and Saraswati Samaj.
