Event Description : Karan Mahajan Band ft. Priyana & Aditya

The Karan Mahajan Band is a project led by guitarist and composer Karan Mahajan. In the day and age of widespread commercialism and digital processed music, this project focuses on live performance, songwriting and extended collective improvisation. The band’s repertoire is a collection of original compositions by Karan, as well as covers of Traditional Blues, Funk, and Soul music.   

Karan Mahajan (Karan Mahajan - Music) is a musician, composer and guitar player based in New Delhi, India. He studied formally at the Global Music Institute and has worked with various musicians in the Delhi circuit including Takar Nabam (Same Sky), Isaac Smith (Sneak Attack), and Raphaelle Brochet and Philippe Aerts (the Piano Man). In 2016, he performed at the annual Music Matters Festival in Colombo, Sri Lanka, as part of the Tarun Balani Collective. Presently, Karan is leading his eponymous band and is also collaborating with Sonal Ajwani on the project ‘Karan and Sonal’.

About Priyana Chauhan:

Priyana Chauhan is a musician, composer and vocalist based in New Delhi, India. She has been a full time student at the Global Music Institute and has also been awarded scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston. As a composer and songwriter, she works on writing and making her own music which comes from trying to communicate stories and experiences from her life as simply but eloquently as possible and constantly works at exploring various styles and sounds as an artist. Her musical influences range all the way from folk, singer-songwriter and country to pop, R&B and jazz.

She is part of several projects, and has performed with many popular names in the Delhi music circuit. She also leads the act ‘Eshaan and Priyana’ along with Eshaan Sood as part of a voice and guitar duo as well as trio, quartet and quintet settings of the same name.

About Aditya Dutta:


Aditya Dutta is a professional drummer based in Delhi. He is a part of The Piano Man house band for the Sunday Musician Mixers. Performing and collaborating as a sessions drummer in the Delhi independent music circuit for the past 1 year, he has actively played with Rainer Pusch (Germany), Karan Khosla Trio, Aditi Dot., Rythem Bansal, Rie Ona (Japan), Ipshita Roy and various other musicians and acts from the city. His influences range from Jazz, Funk, R'n'B, Soul, Swing to Indian classical Music. He also serves as the drum faculty at various music schools across the city and actively provides private lessons to people keen on learning drums.
