- Syllabus is set according to the dynamic of experience within the students that the class presents. Its essential hence that you apply asap! 
- Eligibility: Adults (13 years plus) It's for everyone, no experience is needed! If you have an experience in dance/ body training or any other practice, its most welcome! Only an intention to connect within is needed and we build from there. Would so love to have a lot of you coming in, parents, friends, dancers, non dancers, actors, people interested in deeper connections within, calmness of mind and relaxed body and joy of movement and dance.

Event Description :  Odissi Workshop for Beginners by Aastha Gandhi

Dear dance enthusiasts, people interested in healing/ finding their unique artistic voice through finding inner connections between body and mind, 

Here is a module which is dearest to the teacher's (Swati Mohan) heart!

Finding inner connections (between body and mind in order to heal through awareness): Awareness of the body, of the mind, of the energy, of the surroundings and of others. Its a study of self through contemporary dance, meditation, writing, sound exploration, improvisation, breathe and body awareness. Apart from contemporary dance, we tap into theater practices, somatic practices such as yoga, Alexander, Axis syllabus etc. Breathe and body synchronisation is integral part of the work and so is meditation. Connecting to your inner self, your own voice, finding your own signature/unique artistic voice is the aim of the session lending itself to healing of self progressively.  Contemporary dance Technique, improvisation and movement research are integrated in the syllabus. 

Swati has taught this module for 5 years in Gati dance forum and then continued in Musical Dreams, both in New Delhi. Currently she continues to teach it in NSD (National School of Drama) since 2012 and also at Danza Performing Arts. She has also toured with it in India, teaching it in dance companies, universities, independent dance studios etc. in Bombay, Pune, Calcutta, Bangalore and Goa.
