HIA is an expression of an individual’s innocent thoughts put forward in the form of music. It is an instrumental trio deriving strong influences from modern fingerstyle guitar, post and fusion rock to create their own unique sound and repertoire. The music of HIA has made its home amongst the nostalgias of childhood and has tried to speak through pure music.
Hailing from Assam, HIA started as a trio in early 2018 in Delhi. Conception of HIA started long before the band formed. Udip and Siddhartha met in college and would jam at their hostel basement and that just continued and eventually the idea started materializing. Prankreet, a former dentistry student left college and started doing music full time, met Udip at Shillong during the NH7 Weekender in 2015 and discussed about a potential act playing instrumental music. It was only during early 2018 all three members gathered at a jam pad and played for the first time and that was it. HIA was formed!
