'Dialects of Old Delhi' is a reading & discussion that puts the focus on disappearing dialects of our city. Dastango Fouzia & academic Saneya explore the ways of life and 'boli' (dialects) of micro-communities that once resided here, through poems and prose from Urdu literature. Their distinct speech, gendered idiolect and mannerisms will be contextualised with a historical brief, followed by Fouzia narrating excerpts in Naayi (barber) ki boli, Karkhandari Zuban, Dhoban (washerwoman) ki boli, Begumati Zuban.
