Event Description : MUSIC : Sahil Peris
Sahil is a singer-songwriter and one-man-band who performs solo with his guitar and loop pedal. By virtue of coming from a multicultural background, he shuffles between genres of Folk, Pop and Soft Rock in his live performances. Having performed in India, the USA and the UK, appreciating diversity has always been an essential part of his musical endeavors.
Sahil grew up in Delhi and after finishing school, moved to the US to train as a software engineer. While at university, he won THE VOICE, a singing competition held at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After graduating he worked in Boston, writing code by day and busking by night. He is a now a full-time musician whose forte lies in his interactive performances that include familiar tunes.
Sahil's greatest artistic influence comes from British folk artist, Mike Rosenberg (Passenger) who inspired him to create original music. He incorporates Mike's artistic choices of simple melodies, and confessional lyrics into much of his own work. Sahil will launch his EP in a few months from now.
