Sometimes you don’t.
It might not be about leaving your home and then coming back, it might just be about staying where you are. 

Home is a word, 
Your 
people, 
and uncountable emotions. 

It's the bicycle on the way, the sight of that familiar face. 
It's the cake that you bake, the smell of your room that you inhale, the drawer that collects things random, the songs of the childhood you hum. 

Homebound is that smell, that sight and everything that feels just right. 

It's the peace and the ease when you say, 

I'm home.

About the event:

After going places in Bangalore, Mumbai and Chandigarh, this is another edition of Homebound Sit-Down Session in Delhi. 

It’s the two different worlds of musical sensibilities, soundscapes and experiences that Anhad + Tanner and Samar Mehdi bring to the audience, making the evening a soulful and exhilarating affair. 

About the artists:

Anhad + Tanner:

Anhad + Tanner is a duo based in New Delhi, India and Durham, North Carolina which focuses on making music inspired by their respective backgrounds - Anhad’s being based in the sounds of Asian underground and Indian electronica and Tanner’s coming from contemporary jazz and western classical.

The album features a vast lineup of musicians from India - like Pavithra Chari, Kamakshi Khanna, Aditya Balani, Isheeta Chakravarty and a bunch of instrumentalists from the United States. The album is mixed by Gaurav Raina from Midival Punditz in New Delhi and mastered by Graeme Durham at The Exchange Studios, UK.

Samar Mehdi:

Samar Mehdi is a percussive finger-style guitarist and singer-songwriter from Bhopal. From a very young age, Samar broke his family’s institutional pattern and had his heart set on music quite stubbornly. Eventually, he found his way to the guitar and that brought forth a new purpose to his songwriting. A few coincidences and accidents led him to the world of percussive fingerstyle. What captured his attention about percussive fingerstyle was not the flashy skill show, but an opportunity to write and perform multi-layered songs organically despite being a solo act. 

He released his debut EP 'Urooj' in April which received a rave response and appreciation for its underlying wisdom and honesty.

His recently released playthrough video of Martbaan, based on a poem by June Huzun (of the same name) brings together his poetic and musical talents and was met with the same warmth and admiration.
