Concept and design: R K Sinha and Supriya Joshi
Why support this event: There are 18 lakhs children in Delhi slums who lack proper educational and recreational facilities. The gender gap of literacy has always been more than 24% for the women in the last 70 years. This puts them into a most disadvantageous position and makes them vulnerable to exploitation, trafficking and abuse. We have been working for the last 23 years to empower these basti girls through value education, mentoring and skill training. We need your support to sustain our program.
About Salaam-e-Ishq
Conceived and designed by RK Sinha & Supriya Joshi, Salaam-e-Ishq is a beautiful bouquet of popular Ghazals with Thumri, Dance & Qawwali (Films and Non-Films) accentuating subtle emotions of Love and Romance.
The young and beautiful Bollywood singer Supriya Joshi will be supported by budding artists Mahima Dayal, Aditi Roy, Shariq Mustafa and Samad Khan from GenX to infuse fresh breath of air into the realms of Ghazals, Thumri and Qawwali. Doordarshan Artist and Shringar Mani awardee Swati Wangnoo Tiwari will enhance the experience of the evening with her dance performance.
The concert has been designed in contemporary style with high quality acoustics, good lighting effects and LED walls for wider appeal across all age groups, especially the youth.
