Event Description : FILM FEST : Public Service Broadcasting Trust and Doordarshan present the Open Frame Film Festival, in partnership with Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, IIC and INPUT. The Festival will host an exciting and important line up of new voices, films, conversations and workshops, engaging with the documentary form and its myriad manifestations: the stories documentaries tell and how, the artistic and political processes and impulses that shape them and how they impact the spaces in which they are authored and articulated.
Highlights include:
Professional Documentary Workshops* with Paromita Vohra and Deepa Dhanraj
Documentary Masterclasses* with Avijit Mukul Kishore, Paromita Vohra, RV Ramani and Vipin Vijay
A two-day training and presentation in effective storytelling using the best of public service television from around the world – Mini-INPUT
Special screening of the Sundance World Cinema Grand Jury Prize winner and Oscar nominated Last Men in Aleppo by Feras Fayyad
A special conversation with Masters of Cinema Adoor Gopalakrishnan and Shyam Benegal
26 PSBT Films, most of them in partnership with Doordarshan
A package of short films engaging with sexualities
Panels exploring narratives from India’s hinterland, conversations on death and dying, the joy of learning and voices of young filmmakers reflecting on documentary practice
The screenings will be followed by discussions with presenting filmmakers.
