The city's beloved performance space will be celebrating with some amazing musical acts!
Since it opened, The Piano Man Jazz Club has become the capital’s beloved hub of art and culture. Known for curating some of the country’s most exclusive and unbelievable programming, including the celebrated Giants of Jazz festival, TPMJC has worked tirelessly towards building a thriving artist eco-system and an Artist-First philosophy.
In a span of three years, The Piano Man Jazz Club has brought some of the most famous jazz musicians from India and across the world to Delhi. Commemorating this extraordinary journey and celebrating over 1000 shows, The Piano Man Jazz Club looks forward to setting the stage ablaze with some of its favourite musicians.
With three phenomenal performances lined up, the night will witness Smiti & Adhir (8 - 8:45 PM), Paddy & Megan (9 - 9:45 PM), RollsRoy’s (10 - 10:45 PM), followed by a jam session by none other than our favourite, Arjun & Friends (11 PM - 12:30 AM), where all the artists present join in the revelry and get everyone to dance their shoes off!
About the Artists:
Paddy & Megan:
Pradyumna Singh Manot a.k.a. Paddy, is a fiery Latin Jazz pianist, composer and music educator from India. He is Founder, Director of Music Studies and Head of Departments of Piano, Jazz and Blues at 12 KEYS. He studied Western Classical Music for 12 years and started playing the piano at the age of 6. Pradyumna started his journey with Jazz music at the age of 18 and has been a student of the late Madhav Chari. He has since performed extensively with popular blues, jazz and latin ensembles such as Saturday Night Blues Band, Los Amigos, The Latination and Jazzeando. He is the founder and leader of the Latin ensemble Los Gatos, Poco Loco and Jazz ensemble - 4 on a Swing, which has been empanelled with India Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and represented India in the Panama Jazz festival 2018.
Megan Powers is a singer-songwriter based in New York. Her jazz career found its start in Igor Butman’s iconic Moscow jazz haunt in an impromptu jam session with Igor and his band. She is honored to have since taken the stage at some of NYC’s most notable underground music havens, and to have collaborated with such incredible musicians and humans as Pradyumna Manot, Morley, Billy White, Travis Knapp, and Paul Beaubrun of Zing Experience. Megan studied classically with dramatic soprano Corinne Stevens and with NYC's Broadway great, Phillip Hernandez (most notably, Javert in Les Miserables and the original Esteban in Kiss of the Spider Woman). She has also performed with Andrea Burns and Michael Arden in Stephen Weiner's original staging of The Hudsucker Proxy.
Smiti & Adhir:
Smiti Malik is a member of Delhi-based band Kitchensink and draws inspiration as a singer and song-writer from jazz and blues as well as contemporary folk music.
Adhir Ghosh is a session-guitarist, composer and music teacher and plays full-time with two bands - Five8 (Funk/Rock) and Kitchensink (Jazz/RnB)
Smiti & Adhir’s Guitar and Voice duo-set features a range of Jazz and Blues standard with swing tunes made famous by singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Billy Holliday, Louis Armstrong amongst others. They also include contemporary jazz voices like Norah Jones, Madeliene Peyroux and Melody Gardot. Additionally, their sets feature some exciting arrangement of pop tunes and original songs.
RollsRoy’s (10 - 10:45 PM):
RollsRoy’s is a newly formed multi-genre collective comprising some of the best talents from the music scene - Akshat Pradhan (bass), Krishna Vinod (vocals), Bhavya Raj (vocals/guitar),Shantanu Sudarashan (drums), Kaushik Manikandan (guitar), Pranay Parti (keys), Vibhor Mathur (flute), and Sumit Roy (vocals).
