Event Description : EXHIBITION "Mystical Moments" Solo Show of Paintings by Pratiksha Apurv

Pratiksha Apurv, a well known contemporary national award winning painter and niece of spiritual master Osho, will be showcasing her "Mystical Moments" series of artworks at Lalit Kala Akademi. Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha Smt. Sumitra Mahajan will inaugurate the exhibition in the august presence of other well known dignitaries. The paintings narrate stories of a seeker’s life on the canvas, revealing eternal truths embedded within the Sutras of our spiritual and mystical tradition and the science of meditation. A regular columnist for various publications, Pratiksha’s first book ‘The Mystic and Her Colours’ will be published soon.  
‘Mystical Moments’ explores the vast range of subjects with lyrical expression. One such work, "Beyond Senses" Oil on Canvas, touches the interesting aspect of our life-five senses- that we have been told about since the childhood. This painting is an attempt to convey that our journey must not ignore the inner world that exists beyond senses. We do not need to destroy the senses but create a balancing act by re-directing them to inner world that would take oneself beyond the senses. The silence and stillness blended in the colors on canvas evokes a sense of mystical moments, here and now.

About the Artist : Born in Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh on February 26, 1964. Pratiksha  Apurv initiated herself in Sannyas at the age of 11 and started living with her family in her Uncle’s (OSHO) commune in Pune Maharashtra. She has successfully exhibited 11 solo shows of her works across the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad,
Baroda and Chandigarh.  Pratiksha won the National Award 2015-16 for her painting
titled 'Cosmic Balance'. The Award was given by Lalit Kala Akademi, Ministry of Culture,
Government of India in Lucknow in March 2016.
