Event Description : Upstage Explores Emotions Through Shringara : Tales of Love & Betrayal.
Upstage - the enthralling theatre at Roseate House is all set to endeavor into anecdotes of love & betrayal through Shringara: the impression of love. Known as city’s most happening hub for performing arts, Upstage will host the classical dance evening.
The event shall be graced with performance of the Mangalacharan, a traditional invocation through choreography of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Following that will be the Varnam which is the most challenging piece of the Bharatanatyam repertoire - juxtaposing portions of complex pure dance with sequences of intense bhava. It continues to an Astapadi – ‘Yahi Madhava, Yahi Keshav’ and is finally concluded with a Thillana which is a pure dance presentation from the Bharatanatyam repertoire.
The rendition shall be staged artists Tanya Saxena and Madhur Gupta. Tanya is a well-known stage performer and recipient of the 2017 Scholarship to Young Artists instituted by the Indian Government to promote young talent in the arts while Madhur is an accomplished Odissi dancer.
