Talk and discussion on the Indo-Spanish cultural relations by some of the authors of the book "Indo-Spanish Cultural Encounters (1956-2016)", edited by Jawaharlal Nehru University in collaboration with the University of the Balearic Islands.
Before the the talk, the Spanish-Hindi and Spanish-Bengali dictionaries published by Jawaharlal Nehru University, will be launched by their authors. An excellent tool for students, researchers and professional translators, that soon will be available on internet.
TALK : Indo-Spanish Cultural Encounters
Synopsis: This book has been published on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Spain and India. This work is published by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and is jointly edited by Dr. Anil Dhingra of the aforementioned university and Dr. Gonçal López Nadal of the University of the Balearic Islands, Palma de Mallorca. The book gathers 35 writings of writers, journalists, artists,
philosophers, teachers, sportsmen, translators, diplomats, lawyers, businessmen and economists who offer their personal testimony that from different perspectives contribute to combine two worlds with different characteristics in order to narrow the complementarity of their peoples. The publication of this volume is a result of the growing academic collaboration between Jawaharlal Nehru University and the University of the Balearic Islands, the two university institutions that led the academic approach between Spain and India.

About the program: JNU which is well known for its excellent academic programs in foreign languages and literatures has now brought out two important publications- Spanish-Bangla and Spanish-Hindi dictionaries thus fulfilling a long felt need. These will serve as great tools to students, researchers and professional translators.
Noted Hispanists Aparajit Chattopadhyay and Gaurav Kumar have very ably edited these two volumes. Now available in the printed version these will be soon web-based and cater to everyone from all corners of the world.
