Event Description : MUSIC : Kabir - Mystic Weaver of Words: by Shubha Mudgal & Aneesh Pradhan

Shubha Mudgal, Aneesh Pradhan & Sudhir Nayak present a selection of songs written by the 15-century saint poet Kabir. A weaver by profession, Kabir's dohas (couplets) and padas are rife with profound philosophical truths as well as imaginative metaphors. These are lyrically rendered in a unique blend called sadhukaddi bhasha or panchamel khichdi. In this world of ulatbasi - upside down poems - trees grow with their roots reaching for the skies, fish bloom on branches instead of leaves or fruits, and the lion shepherds grazing cows. 

Performed by Shubha Mudgal (vocals), Aneesh Pradhan (tabla) and Sudhir Nayak (harmonium)
