Event Description : MUSIC : Joseph Ashworth Live
Artist info : Finding the balance between child-like, naïve experimentation and meticulous development and craftsmanship is key to Joseph's creative process. Nothing makes it’s way into his music for no reason, and the focus is always on the emotion his music conveys. In a time often characterised by over-exposure, and disposable music, Joseph provides a contrast, choosing his releases carefully, with only a fraction of his music making it into the public realm.
Grain (2015) was Joseph's debut album, and made a significant mark on the electronic music scene. The album showcased a sensitive, brave creator, inspired by minimalism, melody and texture. A string of EPs on Anjunadeep, Needwant and Pets Recordings, together with collaborations (Jonas Rathsman, Shadow Child, Catz 'n Dogz), saw Joseph's reputation grow organically, from being simply an innovator, to a world renowned and respected artist today. Headliners from all corners of the electronic music scene, from Dixon to Maya Jane Coles, from Kölsch and DJ Tennis to Sasha and Lee Burridge, have shown consistent support, and it’s clear this is just the start of the Joseph Ashworth story.
As a DJ, Joseph has been building a reputation as being erudite, versatile and expressive, having been invited to play extended sets to some of the most revered dance floors across the globe including BPM Festival in Mexico, London’s famous Fabric and Nordstern in Basel.
