Patras Bokhari | MARHOOM KI YAAD MEIN

Through solo performances, 'Ek Baar Ki Baat Hai' explores the art of short story-telling. In one instance, a beautiful bride-to-be has a nightmarish encounter with her groom on their wedding day, and wonders if beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. In the other, Swami Ji extols the virtues of the holy cow and provides a brief history of 'beef beating'. The third narrative delves into the strange connections between friendship and enmity.

Drawing on Hindustani Literature, these unique performances delve into socio-cultural politics and seek to connect with the daily lives of the audience.

Artistes: Shashwita Sharma, Rajesh Kumar & KC Shankar

About Jashn-E-Qalam Storytellling : Across time and culture, Oral Storytelling in the form of folklore, mythology & even grandma's tales have been agents of personal & societal transformation. With the advent of industrialisation and consumerism, visual storytelling in the form Film, TV, etc. has overshadowed these oral narratives. Imagination & Visualisation are the unfortunate casualties!

Jashn-E-Qalam celebrates the Genius of eminent Litterateurs with Dramatic Readings & Storytelling Performances of their Notable Works. The common objective is use the power of the spoken word to collectively experience their timeless brilliance. In the process becoming a reason to meet, share and most importantly...listen!

Since inception, they have performed over 200 Stories at black-box theatres, academic institutions, offices, homes & even public parks! Audiences have relished the act of co-creating a sensuous experience rather than passively consuming a prepared one.
