Screening of the documentary film -'1984, When the Sun didn't Rise' by filmmaker Teena Kaur at 15:00 Hrs
This documentary is based on the lives of Sikh women from the Widows Colony, New Delhi and how their lives change after losing their men in a State planned pogrom. After the assassination of Mrs Indira Gandhi, around 30,000 Sikhs were killed in India and 2733 in New Delhi and till date, it remains the biggest State planned massacre in India, which has been suppressed from the public memory. This will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker.
