Event Description : DANCE FEST : Ganesa Natyalaya presents "Nitya Akhanda Nrittam" 

27 hours | 300 dancers| 4 continents| 1 venue | 1 world record 

Dance brings together people from all walks of life together and gives one the opportunity to integrate without boundaries. Ganesa Natyalaya with that vision has created an opportunity to give various groups from around the country and the world, to perform and interact with each other to create a stronger rapport within the Bharatanatyam fraternity.  

Nitya Akhanda Nrittam, is one of its kind Bharatanatyam festival conceived and conceptualized by Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan (Padmabhushan awardee).  This festival is a 27 hour marathon relay of Bharatanatyam to be performed by approximately 300 dancers from across the globe. First of it’s kind NAN aims to set a world record in Bharatanatyam. Dancers of different nationalities who find a home in Bharatanatyam have come together in this unique endeavor.

This initiative is geared towards adding yet another feature to India's global cultural value, with numerous world records NAN will be a first in its format and form. It is the Longest Bharatanatyam Dance Relay of 27 hours making it a historic event marking a cultural milestone for not just the art form but also for all Indian classical dances and for our country India. 
This festival invites everyone who appreciates dance to come witness the live performance of young and established Bharatnatyam dancers across the globe without having to spend money on tickets, standing in long queues to get entry into big halls and get to see choreographies designed especially for this event.
The event goes on for 27 hours straight come binge watch some of the best performers live!

About Ganesa Natyalaya:
The Institution founded by Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan
Ganesa Natyalaya is a distinguished institution imparting training in the classical dance form of Bharatanatyam for over five decades. Beginning in 1974 ( Dr.Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan, Founder President) with very few disciples. Today, it boasts of many Indian and foreign students on its rolls. In appreciation of the work done by Guru Saroja, the Govt. allotted a piece of land in the Qutab Institutional Area in 1983 the Natyalaya building came up in 1988. Till date (2017) 270 (two hundred and seventy) disciples have completed their Arangetrams and 30 (thirty) of them are teaching and performing and established artists all over the world.
