As part of : EXHIBITION 'In the Shadow of the Pyramids' by Egyptian photographer Laura El-Tantawy at Art Heritage Gallery (Basement), Triveni Kala Sangam, 205, Tansen Marg > 25th August to 20th September 2017


This illustrated talk by Laura El-Tantawy on "In the Shadow of the Pyramids', an ongoing audiovisual installation presented by Art Heritage at Triveni Kala Sangam, will highlight the motivation and inspiration behind her intensely personal nine-year iourney and entrenched reportage surrounding the events of Cairo's Tahrir Square, heralding developments around the 'Arab Spring' in the North African region. Ms. El-Tantawy will also touch upon the conceptualisation of the Ongoing exhibition and provide an Overview of the evolution into its current multidimensional form. The talk will be introduced by Dr. Suryanandini Narain. It will be followed by a Q&A session moderated by Prof. Rustom Bharucha with guest respondent Maya Krishna Rao.

Lauro ETontowy b. 1980 in Worcestershire, UK is a graduate of the University of Georgio, Athens, Georgio (USA). She worked as newspaper photographer between 2002 and 2005 in the USA. Since 3. A 2005 heinless shifted long-term documentary photography. Hier work has been exhibited in Egypt, UK, Spain, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Turkey, france, India and USA. Lauro will be exhibiting of Unseen Amsterdam in September 2017 and La Nu Festival in Spain in October 2017. She has published three monographs and is currently working on her forth. She lives and works between Cairo and London.
