Event Description : FOOD : Assamese Food Pop-Up

The afternoon will start with snacks and mocktail, moving onto a 6-course Assamese meal

More about the Food: 

We will be offering a 6-course Assamese meal to showcase a range of Assamese delicacies (vegetarian and non-vegetarian), which are very integral to the cuisine. Since it will be a small gathering of about 12-14 people, the idea is to interact with each other as well as discover Assamese food. 

The 1st Course in an Assamese meal always starts with Khar (an alkaline vegetable preparation made with raw papaya and banana ash).
2nd Course is Aloo Pitika (mashed potatoes with mustard oil and chillies), Dal and Begena Bhaja (Brinjal fritters). 
3rd Course will include Seasonal Veggies and Xaak or saag (green leaf veggies), prepared into flavourful dishes that are sure to surprise you. 
4th Course is Mutton Curry, which is a must in an Assamese meal, which you can team with pulao.
5th Course will include Masor Tenga, a simple but nourishing tangy fish curry that's also soul food for the people. 
6th Course is dessert, and we will be serving the traditional payoh (kheer) and a surprise dish which is very popular among the tea planters in Assam.
