Event Description : BOOK LAUNCH "Ek Ajnabi se Mulakat". A collection of 16 short stories by popular contemporary German female writers (1945 – 2014). The publication is an outcome of a translation project between the German Departments of the University of Wuppertal and Jawaharlal Nehru University funded by DAAD, initiated by Prof. Ursula Kocher. The translators are M.A. and research students from the Centre of German Studies and they worked on these translations in cooperation with students from the University of Wuppertal. A number of workshops with experts, notably with the late Neelabh Ashk, were organised to discuss various aspects of translation and to seek their comments on the translation.
