Event Description : EXHIBITION "Variety" group show of artworks by Tara Kelton and Avinash Veeraraghavan

Our daily encounters are multifaceted, often accompanied by a sense of contained explosiveness. The sensorium ranges from rapidly moving images on screen to the settled surfaces of fabric, wood and steel. In consuming information, one also absorbs movement, juxtapositions, distance and empty space. Variety is a negotiation of shared space. This extends in meaning beyond that of an exhibition displaying the works of two artists, to include the confluence of diverse textures and technologies.

Avinash Veeraraghavan is displaying works from different periods of time, and these range in material from jagged aluminium, digital collage, embroidery and wooden inlay. Each work within itself is constructed through layers, and enables a larger conversation on complex combinations. 

Tara Kelton’s work will engage with the space through a robot-powered video installation that navigates the floor, through internet-inspired painting, and a series of ninety-
five darkly humorous prints. In attempting to understand the sundry contemporary experience, this exhibition explores the manner in which various methods and materials collide and coalesce when brought together.
