Event Description : DANCE : Jyotsna Shourie Dance Society presents "Devadasi, the Journey of a Temple Dancer" 

This production combines history and legend in a delightful way to tell the complex story of the Devadasi who  was instrumental, despite many hurdles, in carrying on the tradition of classical Bharatanatyam and transporting it from the temple to the stage. Performed by my senior disciples, other professional dancers and Jyotsna Shourie, Devadasi has its musical score composed and sung by renowned musicians Sri O. S. Arun and Smt Sudha Raghuraman.
