Event Description :
EXHIBITION : Embassy of Hungary and Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre present "Hungarian Cultural Festivals" photography show by travel photographer György Konkoly – Thege

About the photographer –

György Konkoly – Thege is an economist by education but a photographer by passion for over 20 years. He has been working for website globoport.hu. He has had several exhibition in Hungary and abroad but is a globe trotter and has visited over 100 countries till now.

The present exhibition covers 4 major Hungarian festivals as under-

Sziget Festival is one of the world's most iconic music festivals. For more than two decades it has been growing, morphing and keeping ahead of the crowd as it puts on a mult-genre, super-star cast year after year.
Everything from EDM to hard rock is represented on Sziget's spectacular stages, from the biggest to the most intimate; there aren't many places you can catch Martin Garrix and Kings of Leon in the same weekend.
Sziget's legendary reputation precedes it, with tickets selling fast even before any artists are announced. It's a more-than-a-festival experience, and definitely one to tick off the list of any festival fan.
It is in Budapest at Hajógyári sziget (island). They have concerts, performances, sport events etc. He has been covering it for more than 10 years but as a visitor he has been on all 24 festivals.

The Ozora Festival (with Solar United Natives festival) is one of the two sizeable psytrance festivals in Hungary, and is one of the fastest growing psytrance festivals in the world, achieving, in 2015, an incredible attendance of 60,000 visitors.

Ozora is also famous abroad and even though it is a really friendly and family oriented festival in a beautiful valley , it has a bit of controversial reputation. It is a festival for mostly electric music and dj-s , but there are a lot of groups performing during the nearly week-long festival in the Hungarian countryside. They have a lot of workshops for different activities like making ceramics etc.

Mediawave is a small but very active and familiar festival in Komárom. Earlier it had different locations but for a few years it is in the Fort of Komárom. The program is really diverse. Concerts, exhibitions, theater performances, movie events of Hungarian and foreign artists are part of the 5 days long event.

They  organize Kurultáj every two years in Bugac Hungary and it is "the largest traditional a festival in Europe" tribal assembly of the Hun-Turkic nations, celebration of the preservation of the ancient traditions. In 2016 there were guests from 27 nations like Kazakhstan,Mongolia,Turkey,Bulgaria etc.
