Event Description : EXHIBITION "Hues and Clues" A Solo Art Show by Sahaya Sharma.

Inspired by the ambiguous forms that arise from the stringing together of colour and all the possible thoughts it brings to the mind, Hues and Clues is a journey into colour, form, texture and harmony.

Colour and perception are two sides of the same coin. When colour takes a form, then memory, reasoning and decision making come to work. Giving birth to phenomena’s like Apophenia that let us indulge in wishful thinking and believe faces appear in clouds or animals and landscapes exist where paint has been chipped off walls. In this show, perceptions are coloured by emotion and draw from living organisms and abstract forms, making this body of work, biomorphic in nature. Each painting is an event framed in time or a rucksack full of contradictions where ambiguity meets certainty and euphoria befriends melancholy.
The exhibit showcases a body of work comprising paintings, mixed media works, video and installation. Bound by clues that appear as metaphors and textures that emerge like visual memories of sights, sounds and smells, there is a single thread of familiarity that flows throughout the works.
Hues and Clues challenges its viewers to push the boundaries of perception: Between what is and what could be, in a playful manner. The open-ended nature of abstraction encourages one to trace clues and conjure up narratives or experience spontaneous thoughts in all its possibility.
