The play attempts to explore the mind of a terrorist responsible for the Mumbai Blast and presents his justification for the need of such an act. Raquib, a practising Lawyer in Bombay High Court is challenged by Dhruv to contemplate beyond his immediate world of “one wife”, “one daughter” and “one dog”. Raquib, who enjoys reading Ulysses every Sunday afternoon, on a particular park bench, has his tranquillity shattered by Dhruv who tries to convince him that at the Zoo the animals have been set free. What follows is a disturbing dialogue between Dhruv and Raquib , with Dhruv explaining that because Raquib wears a skull cap, the world will believe he is responsible for the Mumbai Blasts. A single skull cap marks the difference between Dhruv and Raquib, and both characters are performed by the Theatrecian founder, Tathagata Chowdhury. The play represented India at the South Asian Theatre Festival in Cincinnati, USA, in 2014. At the Kalakranti Theatre Awards, this production received Best Actor and Best Play awards.
Performed and Directed by Tathagata Chowdhury
