Bassick Sense Vol. 10
Bassick Sense, now in its tenth edition is a Social exclusive club night that showcases any form or genre of music that's heavy on bass in association with KRUNK, the biggest roster and promoter of bass music artists in India. From dubstep to future bass to trap, anything goes this night.
Get ready for a smasher of a night as Loefah (UK) takes the stage. The seminal work of producer pioneer, Loefah has been formative in the creation and development of the now worldwide scene of dubstep. Along with his partners, Mala and Coki, he started and continues to run the now infamous DMZ brand. His own production was initially well known for his much respected bass weight and half time beat patern, well illustrated by his productions such as 'Horror Show', 'Mud' and 'Ruffage'.
The gig is supported by Tarqeeb - A seeker of hedonism through rhythm, philanthropy through music-making, he formed his moniker in the summer of 2012. The idea was always simple - promotion of quality EDM, minus the little labels and the big boxes. The only constants remain deep, groovy bass-lines, dark atmospheres and a trajectory that ultimately crescendos into high energy dance music.
A bass heavy night with the with the one of the pioneers of Dub and a favourite from Delhi, the night is not worth being missed.
About Loefah:
In recent years, the predominant tendency on UK dancefloors has been to defy genre, instead drawing for music with a common sense of adventure or experimentation. Loefah has been one of the key and most successful figures in that movement. Having started his career as one of early dubstep’s pioneering producers and part of the Digital Mystikz collective, he became frustrated with the genre’s limitations, so began playing and releasing (through his label Swamp81) tracks that stripped away all excess fat to leave only bass and itchy drum machine rhythms. With a steady stream of output from the likes of Kryptic minds, Skream, Pinch, Ramadanman, Addison groove, Instra:mental, Boddika and FaultyDL, it became increasingly clear that Swamp81 is dedicated to the promotion of subcultural bass music rather than dubstep music per se. The releases display a likeminded dedication to weighty electronic music and that is what has made the ripples worldwide for this label, winner of the best new label in at the dubstep awards 2010.
Reflecting the eclecticism, Swamp81 releases are being supported by a variation of DJs such as Atrak, Josh Wink, Joy Orbison, Ricardo Villalobos, Giles Peterson, Kode9, Benji B, and many more. Whilst Loefah continues to tour voraciously through clubland, his music increasingly progresses into new territory, pushing the sound of swamp81 and the UK’s underground scene in general.
