Background : Kathak Kendra is a National Institute of Kathak Dance and a Constituent Unit of Sangeet Natak Akademi which is an autonomous body under Ministry of Culture, Government of India. As part of promotion & propagation of Kathak Dance in and outside the country, the Kendra organizes programmes & festivals from time to time in and around Delhi.
Kathak Mahotsav being the prime festival, marks the annual celebration of Kathak at the national level. It is an attempt to bring the kathak fraternity under one umbrella. This year the festival has been conceived in a manner to bring to you some exquisite fragrances from artists across styles, regions & generations depicting the Antique Traditional Aspects of Kathak i.e. Kathak Nritya ki Purani Paramparagat Rachnaien.
