Event Description : On the occasion of 5th Anniversary Celebrations of  'KHANAK Institute of Performing Arts', Solo Kathak Performance by Monisa Nayak followed by a Group Choreography 'Aaradhana' presented by the Artistes of KHANAK Institute of Performing Arts...... in Festival 'KHANAK-DHAARA 2017'

Monisa Nayak, is an accomplished Kathak performer of the Jaipur Gharana who has dedicated herself in perfecting her art form. . Her excellent command of rhythm , as well as her natural flair for profound expressions , mark her performance and are critically acclaimed by connoisseurs.

‘AARAADHANA’ starts with the meditative notes of ‘Devi Stuti’ which was written by the King of Jodhpur. Slowly the energy turns outwards describing the beauty of Krishna’s mystics through his Gowardhan-Leela, simultaneously creating unique dialogues between the dancers and the percussion syllables.
It will be followed by ‘Shri Vishnu Stotram’ which depicts the prayer to the cosmic energy of Lord Vishnu-Narayan, who is not only “Jagannath”,Lord of universe but also the master of all arts, the supreme dancer and the epitome of beauty.
The presentation will be concluded with a musical and rhythmical treat “Tarana” based on the seven notes of music which are arranged in a certain manner to create an abstract musical pattern. The dancers follow this musical pattern and create movements and images in space which coincide with the notes of the music sung.
