A bonsai is a living miniaturized tree, planted in a shallow container that exhibits the natural beauty of the tree growing in the wild. It is the final result of a variety of disciplines-horticultural, technical, artistic and philosophical.
Indian Bonsai Association (IBA) was formed in 1981 by late Dr. Leila Dhanda and Dr. Tayebbhoy & has grown into one of the leading Bonsai promotion organization of the country.
From time to time, Bonsai Masters of international repute are invited to demonstrate their skills and to enhance the art of Bonsai. They found Indian Bonsai hobbyists to be very keen & enthusiastic and the range of tropical plants bewildering. They have been impressed by the Association’s work and efforts. This has helped us not only to learn more about the art but also to build international relations with other countries.
IBA is now holding its International Bonsai Convention & Exhibition at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Sujan Singh Park, New Delhi from 23rd to 25th September, 2016. We have invited four world-renowned international Bonsai Masters from different countries, who are experts in handling different kinds of plant material.

These reputed masters will demonstrate the latest techniques of Bonsai on Indian trees to metamorphose them into beautiful bonsai. This will be followed by workshops in which participants will work upon their own plants under the expert guidance of these Masters. The idea of this Convention is also to make International Bonsai artists aware of the exotic range of Indian Tropical trees and plants, the beauty of their trunks and the growth pattern of their healthy roots.
