ABOUT THE PLAY
When tryst with destiny brought Freedom to the country on 14 August 1947 midnight, tyranny fell upon the common man and the country torn apart, humanity annihilated. Partition is a scar in human history of India. Many died, many wounded, many lost, many mentally disabled and many still living with the scar in their heart, generation to generation. Those who witnessed this psychological trauma, penned down their pain into stories and Novels.

Bhisham Sahni’s short story ‘PAALI’ is an account of such an incident occurred in the life of a 5 year old boy during the partition. The play tells the story of the Boy ‘PAALI’ who survived the partition, lost-found- lost his parents, practiced different religions, crossed boundaries, became National of 2 different Nations but still remained a ‘HUMAN’ beyond religion beyond borders.
