While India is celebrating its 70th year of independence, we have a joyful story of liberation. 
We are excited to inform you that Somaiya Kala Vidya will make its debut in Delhi with an exhibition of our Artisan to Artisan Outreach program, which brings job work artisans economic independence.

This is a story of the future of Indian design like no other. Somaiya Kala Vidya (SKV), the Gujarat-based institute for artisan education, showcases phase 3 of its innovative outreach, Elegant Innovations.In Elegant Innovations, SKV brings new light and appreciation to amazing traditions through artisan co-design.
In this show, Ilkal sari weavers of Bagalkot District, Karnataka and chikan embroiderers of Lucknow join with artisan designer weavers and embroiderers of Kutch. In tandem, these traditional artisans have innovated on Ilkal and chikan. The Kutch weavers and embroiders also drew inspiration from Bagalkot and Lucknow.
