Event Description : MUSIC & DANCE "Swatantra Diwas ki Swaralahari" - a dance program in Kuchipudi & Bharata Natyam celebrating the spirit of India’s Independence through songs in various Indian languages sung by eminent dancer –singer Swapnasundari (awardedPadma Bhushan by the President of India).
This program will be danced by Nandini Nitin, one of the brightest Koochipoodi dancers of the young generation who has beentrained by Smt. Swapnasundari at our centre. Please find attached full details about her along with a photograph. She will be supported by Anmol Bansal, Malvika Arora, R.Akhsaya and M.P.Srilakshmi.
Lyrics by renowned poets in Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Kashmiri, Tamil & Telugu languages, reflecting love & pride for India are presented as group, duet and solo dances in classical idioms. Swatantra Divas ki Swaralahari also includes original sound-tracks from Swapnasundari 's music-album Janmabhoomi Meri Pyaari released earlier by H.M.V. The title song and some others had been tuned by Late Music Composer Smt. Sarala Rao (mother of Swapnasundari) whose birth anniversary is being observed with this stage- presentation. Swatantra Divas ki Swaralahari includes a few traditional Kuchipudi dance items as well.

About the Principal dancer: Nandini Nitin was initially trained in Koochipoodi by Shri Prabir Datta, under a scholarship from the C.C.R.T. Later she obtained training from Padma Bhushan Swapnasundari under the Govt. of India's National Scholarship for Young Artists. Nandini made her professional debut in the year 2004. She has toured India and abroad as a prominent artist in Kuchipudi Dance Centre's productions. One of today's brightest young soloists, Nandini has given her solo performance inSangeet Natak Akademi's Nritya Pratibha Festival and in Delhi International Arts Festival, apart from various other prestigious Dance Festivals in different parts of the country. She is also a talented choreographer. Nandini is a qualified graphic designer and has designed her Guru’s recent book on Vilasini Natyam.
