About the show:
People have been practicing various art forms since ages. From abstractions to figurative and going on till toughest of sculptures and their different mediums, experimentation and implementation has been flip sides of the same coin when it comes to art & Chinese art is one among those. Chinese art is visual art that is based in or draws on Chinese heritage and Chinese culture.Chinese art has arguably the oldest continuous tradition in the world.
This group show will feature some of the contemporary painters & sculptors of chinese origin who will showcase their knowledge of art through their form of art works. With that the importance of calligraphy will also be seen in those art works as the artists of china has always been treating calligraphy as an predominant part of their artistry.
Guo Youhe -  vice president of Beijing National Academy of painting and calligraphy art museum curator depicts the spirits of characters in his traditional Chinese watercolor paintings. The object of his admiration was “Wu Daozi”, a portrait of an old Chinese man in ancient times. His grave look, ethereal flowing gown and steady hand with a paint brush show he is painting in haste. His works cover a variety of themes, including ancient Chinese beauties, contemporary figures, still life and landscapes. Guo paints every day – his conscience pricks him if he doesn’t. If he cannot paint a whole day, he reviews his works to see how he can improve them.
“We account for a quarter of world’s population, but unfortunately Chinese painting is almost absent on the international art stage, which is dominated by Western oil painting,” – Says Guo
Xuefeng Mao is the founder of Xinjiang (Northwest of China) heavy-color style of landscape painting. His works have been displayed in national and international art exhibitions and have won numerous domestic and international prizes, including the “Art Award of International Peace Year” issued by the United Nations. Mao highlighted the aesthetic values of the interplay of traditional Chinese landscape painting and the “bold” colors of western painting in his heavy-color style painting, and emphasized that art transcends the borders of nations and cultures.
Wang Zhong and Liaoning another extraordinary artist who not only specializes in sculptures. Wang Zhong is a Chinese visual artist. Wang Zhong has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Linda Gallery, Singapore. Famous for his series ‘SILENT NIGHT” Mao Xuefeng is a visual artist too. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction, Contemporary Chinese Ink Paintings being his medium he is an acclaimed artist all over and has been gaining laurels for his works.
In China, the tradition of ink wash painting, practiced mainly by scholar-officials and court painters especially of landscapes, flowers, and birds, developed aesthetic values depending on the individual imagination of and objective observation by the artist that are similar to those of the West. After contacts with Western art became increasingly important from the 19th century onward, in recent decades China has participated with increasing success in worldwide contemporary art.
