Event Description : ART TALK 'Invitation for a Coup' with Prabhakar Pachpute followed by a discussion moderated by Akansha Rastogi.
Prabhakar Pachpute (b. 1986 , Chandrapur , Maharashtra) was trained in sculpture at the IKS University , Khairagarh (Chattisgarh , 2009) and MS University (Baroda,2011). He is the part of the artist collective ‘ Shunya ‘ and Clark House initiative. He has his first solo exhibition ‘ Canary in a calming ‘ at the Clark House Initiative (2012) , and recently had a solo exhibition ‘no it was;t the locust close’ at the National Gallery of Modern Art , Mumbai (2016). Pachupute has participated in many important exhibitions and institutions with site-specific wall drawings , including
Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven , 2013) , Kadist Art Foundation (Paris @013). IFA(Stuttgart & Berlin , 2013) , MACBA (Barcelona , 2015). His biennale participations include the 31st Sao Paolo Biennale (2014) , 14th Istanbul biennale (2015) , and the 8th Asia Pacific Triennial (Brisbane , 2015).
He lives and works in Mumbai.
Background : The series , “Invitation for a Coup’ proposes a space or a bricolage as created by an interaction catalyzed by the artist’s speech. Each of the nine participating artists lead us into a discussion/construction with anchors drawn from their art in practice. It works towards implicating oneself and one’s peers with utmost force into a stutter.
