Event Description : MUSIC : Jugni Band performing live.

Playing a blend of Sufi with Rock music, the Jugni band was formed in 2014 when three old friends – Rohit, Sagar and Mohit – came back together. The word ‘Jugni’ refers to the spirit or essence of life. The band always invokes the name of God, Ali or the Gurus in every piece of its music (often using the word "Saeen" which is the vernacular term for Lord). A kernel of truth is an essential and integral part of every Jugni composition.

The band came back together in 2014 when Rohit (Lead Vocalist), Sagar (Lead Guitarist), Mohit (Guitarist) reconnected after parting ways in 2008. Music has always been a vital part of all their lives and their ultimate collective goal. The members, who had been writing music on their own, have now taken the formative steps towards becoming a band and have chosen to endorse themselves as Jugni.

Jugni has delivered more than 500 performances at various sites across India. Being a Delhi based band, we have been fortunate to receive much appreciation and love from the capital’s Sufi inclined audience. Jugni is now looking forward to release their first ever music album and is all set to rise and deliver the best of it.
