Jazz Piano/Film Score (Assam)

Ron Cha : Ronojit Chaliha aka Ron Cha is a Jazz Pianist who trained in Western Classical Piano initially and crossed over to Jazz and improvised music. 

He has played at many venues in Europe and Asia. He has performed and recorded alongside many great artistes such as FerencNémeth, Loy Mendonsa, Floyd Fernandes, Gino Banks, Sheldon D'Silva, and others. He has attained accolades from the country’s best musicians such as Louiz Banks, Clinton Cerejo, Papon,  Zubin Garg, Vishal Dadlani and Loy Mendonsa.

Ron is currently involved with his Trio project, his solo piano works and well as his Electronic Experiments and he is freelancing as a session musician in the country. He has also performed at the prestigious Caux Theater at the Palace in Caux, Switzerland and at the Fourties Jazz Bar in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Ron has worked with much respected Jazz musicians from America, Europe and Asia such as FerencNémeth, Ben Schwendener, Uwe Steinmetz, IndroHardjodikoro and others. In 2013, Ron scored the highest score in the Trinity College of Music Advance Certificate Classical Piano Examination in India and holds the record till date. Ron performs regularly around the country at venues such as Shisha Jazz Cafè, Pune, Café Zoe, Mumbai, The Piano Man Jazz Club, Delhi and many other corporate shows and festivals around the country. The most recent update in his career is his new Piano Trio album featuring Sheldon D'Sliva on Bass, Loy Mendonsa on second Bass and Gino Banks on Drums recorded LIVE in St. Anthony’s Auditorium, Shillong and LIVE atYashraj Film Studios by ShantanuHudlikar. He plans to launch the record early 2016 and tour with it nationally and internationally. Ron has recently been invited to audition for Berklee College of Music and plans to study music in the USA soon.
