Event Description : EXHIBITION : Tasveer presents "Bourne & Shepherd: Figures in Time" photography show

Part of Tasveer’s 10th anniversary celebrations, this exhibition of 19th century vintage photographs includes a range of landscapes, architectural views and portraits by the photographers Samuel Bourne, Charles Shepherd and the Bourne & Shepherd studio.

Although some of these images have enjoyed great popularity, being as they are, some of the finest 19th century photography, this exhibition besides bringing together a wide range of expressions, redirects our contemporary perspective by including modern enlarged reprints. Through their enlargement, our eye is drawn to the strength of detail that seem microscopically negligible in the originals, fixing their historical context both in form and content.

About the Organization : Established in 2006, Tasveer is the leading photography gallery in India, and holds 6 traveling shows a year across the country, as well as collaborating with galleries abroad. Tasveer strives to promote the appreciation and collection of photography as an art form – be it vintage, classic or contemporary.
