Entry :- The workshop will be open to people above the age of 18.
- There is no participation fees but the number of seats in the workshop are limited.
- The workshop will be a day-long session, starting with a short summary and introduction to the artist and followed by exercises and discussions for the participants.
- To register send us your short bio (100 words) and three work images in a PDF/DOC via email at info@ficart.org latest by 9th May 2016, Monday, 7pm.
- Selected participants will be required to bring their 'sketchbook' and a 'non art sketchbook' (For e.g. an accountant's ledger book, a security guard's log book, a front desk reception manual, a doctor's notebook, a recipe book,etc) and basic drawing material for the workshop.

Event Description : ART WORKSHOP : FICA Drawing Club presents "Drawing Exercises" with Gagan Singh
Gagan Singh and FICA are collaborating to start a 'Drawing Club' - as part of which the first workshop will be conducted. The workshop will derive examples and structures from different kinds of sketchbooks and will engage with the potential of 'non-art sketchbooks'. The exercise will use 'mark making' as a framework to re-think the possibilities of sketching and drawing.
FICA Drawing Club will be an open group, with drawing enthusiasts who will come together once a month to meet, draw and share their works. Gagan Singh is taking forward his research in drawing through the forum. Starting in May 2016, it is proposed as an organic series of workshops and engagements for a year long Drawing Club.
Gagan Singh studied fine art in the UK and has exhibited in various group shows including the Sarai Reader 09 at the Devi Art Foundation, Delhi, 2012 – 2013. The content of the work falls into two broad categories, the autobiographical and the erotic. In both cases, humor acts as a point of access through which other issues, often more serious, are explored by the artist. He is the recipient of Indian Foundation for the Art's Extended Arts Practice Grant and had a solo exhibition in Chatterjee and Lal Gallery, Mumbai in 2014. The key ideas to his art practice are a fascination about drawing.
