Event Description : THEATRE "About Sylvia : Lifting off The Bell Jar" English play

The first in a series of curated poetry events, About Sylvia : Lifting off The Bell Jar is a turbulent journey with Sylvia Plath Hughes: her ideological childhood, awkward adolescence fraught with nervous creative energy, her social persona and inner demons, her psychic imprisonment leading to her tragic suicide at the age of thirty. The price she paid for the constant pursuit of bitter fame: her hopes, her fears, her dreams; ridden with constant melancholy and the sheer resolute fury of existence. The superb identity- the selfhood of things as she imagined it and her body of work burdened with terrifying symbols of irresistible and inevitable finality.
